Tired of running those hilly race courses? Never fear, the second annual Salt Flats Half Marathon is here. It’s FLAT, what else can we say? The experience of running on this natural wonder is like no other and you don’t want to miss it! So come join us Labor Day Weekend to have fun and “run with a grain of salt.” Date: Saturday, September 4th, 2010 Time: 7:00 am Mountain Time Zone Place: Bonneville Salt Flats outside of Wendover, Utah Cost: $45 until August 21st $50 August 22nd - September 3rd $55 September 4th Info: Race course will take place right on the Bonneville Speedway. It’s an out and back course so we will have cones every 1/4 mile to guide you on the course (make sure to look for other fun tidbits out there that may win you a prize!). Aid stations are at miles 1/12, 3/10, 5/8, and 6.55 (turnaround point). Portapotties will be located at start/finish and miles 5/8. For a course map, click here. Packet pick-up and race-day registration will be from 6:00-6:45 am the morning of the race. All participants will receive keychain finisher medals as well as a t-shirt, goody bag, and post-race refreshments. Awards will be given for overall first place male and female racers as well as top three winners in each age division. Age Groups 10-19 20-29 30-39 40-49 50-59 60-69 70+ All participants as well as volunteers will be eligible for raffle prizes donated by our sponsors. To access the start/finish line, we will have markers at the end of the access road to guide you. You can drive right onto the salt, but just be aware that you will probably need a good car wash afterwards! The glare of the sun off of the salt is pretty intense.
